Within in any culture, one must realize that people have different motives as to why they desire to be apart of the said culture. It’s the classic tug of war between preservation & capitalization. The “sneaker game” is nothing new; however, one cannot deny that there has been a huge influx, recently, of participants in the “sneaker game”. Some people have ill feelings towards it, some don’t. Some blame it on the “hypebeasts”, resellers, and some even blame it on us, the blogs. Some even blame Wale. Whatever one’s theory may be, one must realize that there have always been people who follow trends, people who capitalize financially from trends, and those who cover or broadcast the trends; there is nothing new under the sun.
We recently took a trip down to Decatur St. in downtown Atlanta to a staple in not only Atlanta’s, but the entire South’s sneaker culture in the World Famous Walter’s. Here, we spoke to a few individual who are already camped for a pair of sneakers that does not release until days from now (February 24).

On the eve of the release of Watch the Throne, his highly anticipated album with Kanye West, Jay-Z’s adding more to his plate. GQ has learned that as of today, Jay-Z’s fashion house, Rocawear, owns the licensing to manufacture and distribute Billionaire Boys Club. Sources say that Jay-Z and Pharrell, the current face and force behind BBC, will work as a tandem—utilizing Jay-Z’s business prowess and Pharrell’s creativity. Hypebeast, fret not! BBC won’t be on the shelves of large department stores simply because it’s under the Roc umbrella. But this is the backing that most streetwear brands don’t have, which has lead to many shuttering their doors in recent years. For now, this is truly the best of both worlds *cue R. Kelly chorus*.

HUGE Magazine Editorial – Supreme in 2011 Summer
HUGE Magazine presents a nice editorial on the current Supreme Summer 2011 Collection in their latest issue.
W Magazine Does Music & fashion

Versace Collaborates With H&M
The latest high fashion collaboration has been announced by H&M today. The big discount brand will be working with Versace on a womens, mens and for the first time in a H&M collabo a home collection for Autumn/Winter 2011. The collaborative collection will hit 300 H&M stores, starting November 17th and will also be available online. In addition, Donatella Versace has also designed a pre-spring collection for H&M which will be exclusively available only in the countries with H&M on-line sales from January 19, 2012. I love that H&M ventures into the high fashion world every year and completely astonishes with every collection.
